I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT #78183). I work from more than one perspective and match the perspective to the person and the setting. When I supervise trainees of the Sentio MFT program, I work from a relational, systemic perspective: the difficulties people bring to therapy take shape within the patterns of interaction in their relationships, families and wider contexts, and change happens there too. This perspective defines the marriage and family therapy profession. The profession's standards expect every marriage and family therapist to hold a relational/systemic philosophy and to practice relational/systemic therapy, so MFT students need supervision that teaches them to see cases and to work in this way.
I graduated from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (Sofia University) in 1996 with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and have been working in the field of personal transformation and change for over two decades.
My goal, as a therapist, is to work from a perspective of “not knowing” which allows me to work with you without my assumptions and beliefs about what’s best for you getting in the way. I see our work together as co-explorers with myself holding the flashlight as you navigate difficult terrain and explore your inner landscape, enabling you to make the changes that you need to make as the expert on your life.
I am able to offer psychotherapy, life coaching or clinical supervision. To find out what service is the best fit for you, please get in touch today. I look forward to hearing from you!
Why we do things (or don't) can be thought of as falling into three categories. We are either trying to make something happen that we want, trying to stop something from happening that we don't want, or doing our best, consciously or unconsciously, not to change at all because the known is safer than the unknown.
I specialize in asking the questions that help you figure out how to live a life closer to the way you want or need it to be. A life, as Goldilocks might say, is "just right."
In Coaching, there is generally a focus on strengths, future goals and expectations. In other words, it’s a focus on what you want your ideal life to look like and how that’s different than what it looks like now. We work online together to help you make your life more the way you want it to be. This may include looking toward the past to see where the patterns keeping you "stuck" may have come from.
I have provided clinical supervision to associates and trainees in individual, triadic, and group formats since 2016, matching supervision to each supervisee's training and licensure path. For trainees in the Sentio MFT program, I serve as program clinical supervisor and provide MFT relational/systemic supervision, as outlined in the COAMFTE Accreditation Standards. For associates and trainees from other programs and disciplines, I supervise from the perspective their own training calls for.
