As a trauma specialist and cultural anthropologist, I am deeply committed to guiding individuals through their healing journeys. I employ a variety of tailored strategies and techniques to meet your unique needs, integrating the symbols and practices that hold personal significance to you. My work is informed by extensive international experience with diverse communities and a wide range of trauma-related issues.
I am the Founder of the Fieldwork Initiative, a grassroots organization dedicated to addressing academic abuse, where I established the first emergency hotline for victims of fieldwork-related harm. My passion for creating safer spaces has led me to lecture on trauma and social justice at esteemed institutions such as Oxford University, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, and the National Academy of Sciences.
In my role as a Trauma Circle Facilitator at Streets2Schools, I have worked closely with individuals most affected by violence, including trafficking survivors and incarcerated people. Through educational modules on trauma, psychology, and human development—delivered in both English and Spanish—I have witnessed the power of resilience and healing in action.
I hold certifications as a Trauma and Sexual Violence Counselor and as a treatment provider for Domestic Violence and Trauma Support from the Dr. Sonkin Center. Additionally, I have received specialized training in Crisis Mental Health, Social Vulnerability, and Disaster Support from the National Hazards Center, as well as Suicide Prevention Counseling certification from the SPRC. My academic background includes advanced degrees in Cultural Anthropology and Social Science.
I am particularly passionate about addressing complex issues such as abusive grooming, abuses of power, gendered violence, and breaking the silence surrounding trauma in historically taboo spaces. I have significant experience supporting former foster youth and survivors of childhood trauma and poverty-related trauma. My approach is grounded in compassion, cultural understanding, and a deep respect for each person’s journey toward healing.
I welcome all clients equally with a commitment to understanding their unique experiences. Those who have experiences of childhood trauma, sexual assault, gendered violence, academic abuse, and existential trauma may find particular relevancy in my approach.
